In later years, Scott Joplin wrote several rags that were back-to-the-fundamentals. One of these is Pine Apple Rag, 1910. It is so back-to-the-basics that I've combined it in a medley with a rag from 1901, Peacherine Rag. The two seem like they could be part of the same piece. I call this Fruit Salad.
